American artist Cecil Touchon's collages relate to the more playful stages of Cubism and to the geometric inventions of Russian Constructivism.
With a keen eye for balance and color, Touchon's geometric abstractions are solid and intelligent, reminiscent of such masters as Picasso and Matisse. At first glance nostalgic, and often with a touch of humor, his juxtapositions of diverse collage elements are both provocative and stimulating.
Touchon has exhibited in the United States and Europe, and his corporate collections include HBO, IBM, Delta Airlines, Sanyo Corporation, J. P. Morgan Bank (International Division), New York, Dannon Yogurt, Bank of Tokyo, New York and Prudential Insurance Company, Newark, New Jersey.
