Cecil Touchon's 'Iberian Variations' is a series of collages based on a Robert Motherwell painting entitled 'Iberia.' Following a tradition among musical composers to make variations on works by other composers, Touchon has selected this work by Robert Motherwell as the source of inspiration for his series of Abstract Expressionist collages.
All images are collages composed of black and white acrylic paint over antique music paper mounted on 300lb Arches watercolor paper. Image size is 6 inches wide by 7.5 inches tall. Backing paper is 15 inches wide by 17 inches tall.
